Who We Are
We’re not a company - we’re a group of Minecraft enthusiasts who came together to build SimpleCloud. This page explains what drives our development decisions.Guiding Principles
Simplicity Takes Effort
Making things simple to use requires work upfront. We spend time hiding complexity behind straightforward interfaces. Every feature gets evaluated: can a server admin figure this out without reading documentation?User Experience Comes First
Before building any feature, we ask: “How would a server administrator naturally use this?” Sometimes this means choosing practicality over technical elegance. If a feature is correct but confusing, we redesign it.Continuous Improvement
We don’t just build new features - we revisit existing ones. User feedback directly shapes what we change. If something doesn’t work well, we fix it rather than document workarounds.Built by Volunteers
SimpleCloud is developed entirely by volunteers in their free time. We build what we believe in. No commercial pressures, no investor demands. This lets us focus on quality and take time to do things right. We’re not bound by deadlines or feature checklists. If something needs more work, it gets more work. The Brand Matters to Us
While we’re a Minecraft project developed in free time, we enjoy creating a cohesive brand. This isn’t strictly necessary, but it’s part of what makes the project fun for us. We treat visual identity with the same care as code. What This Means for You
- Features ship when they’re ready, not when a roadmap says they should
- We prioritize fixing problems over adding features
- Community feedback shapes development direction
- Documentation exists because we use it too
